Weather update

It has been another unsettled week, with bouts of torrential rain and prolonged dry periods.

In total, the farm has been hit by 18 mm of rain, leaving the ground saturated and there is more heavy rain forecast next week!

Dynamite Devotion!

How could anyone question the racing industry's love of the animal?

Stud stalwart Dane Shadow was a little under the weather earlier in the week, so Hannah ( foaling manager) would visit him at regular intervals to check his well-being.

However, she didn't expect to find stallion man Louis Robey asleep in his box. She didn't wake him and just took this snap.

DEVOTION with a capital D!!

Where Are They Now?

Each week we will be focusing on one of the farm's star resident mares.

It's easy to forget mares when their racing careers finish and we hope to bring you a little insight into what they're up to now!

We hope you enjoy!

This week . . . Red Tracer!

Where Do They Go?

It's not long until the first batch of yearlings come in to begin the Magic Millions prep and Mick has had the massive headache of deciding what sale to send each yearling.

How does he decide? Click on the picture ( below) to find out.

Born recently . . .

Several foals have been born in recent days, including . . .

This super-athletic Time For War colt bred by Neil Werrett out of the Flying Spur mare Patricia Joan.

And here is Marianne's awesome first foal, a colt by I Am Invincible.

Weekend acceptances.

14:00 Race 4 Reginald Allen H. L, A$100000 1400m

Zenalicious (AUS) 2013 (F. by Choisir-Zenith) (trainer: L J Bridge) Retained; dug in deep to win at Warwick Farm this month and warrants a step up in class. Best of luck to the filly’s owner-breeder Kim Harding.

17:15 Hyland Race Colours H., A$85000 1400m
Dinghu Mountain (AUS) 2012 (G. by Snitzel-Layette) (trainer: C J Waller) Bought as a yearling by CC Lai for $725,000 at Inglis Easter in 2014; has been in great form of late and can go well again. Good luck to his breeder Neil Werrett.

Illawarra TC
15:39 Race 6 RTS Thoroughbreds Pty Ltd H., A$27000 1200m
Dolly's Due (AUS) 2013 (F. by Duporth-Baby Boom) (trainer: Michelle Ritchie) Bought as a yearling by P Murray for $3,000 at Inglis Classic Sale in 2015; clearly has a fair level of ability and has place claims. Best of luck to her breeders Max Whitby and KWH.

14:15 Race 4 Inglis Cup, A$250000 2000m
So Willie (AUS) 2012 (G. by More Than Ready-Sworn to Secrecy) (trainer: C J Waller) Bought as a yearling by Chris Waller Racing Stables for A$140,000 at the Inglis Easter Sale in 2014; slightly disappointed on seasonal reappearance when Hugh Bowman said he was unsuited by the slow early pace. Clearly better than that and can go well. Best of luck to Neil Werrett.

16:15 Race 7 Sir Rupert Clarke H. Gr.1, A$502000 1400m
Counterattack (AUS) 2012 (C. by Redoute's Choice-Kisma) (trainer: C J Waller) Retained; so unlucky not to get his head in front on seasonal reappearance and has a huge chance of winning that elusive Group 1. Fingers crossed for his owner-breeder Geoff Grimish.

Hong Kong
14:30 Race 4 Leighton H., HK$840000 1200m
Operatic Rescue - Royal Spirit (H.K.) (AUS) 2011 (G. by Oratorio-Kirra Beach) (trainer: C W Chang) Bought by Dullingham Pty Ltd for $20,000 at MM H-i-T Sale in 2013; has failed to fire in recent starts and this is a big ask. Good luck to his breeder Grahame Mapp

15:55 Race 7 Golden Pendant Gr.2, A$403000 1400m
Serene Majesty (AUS) 2012 (F. by Fastnet Rock-Custard) (trainer: P & P Snowden) Bought as a yearling by Kitchwin Hills for $400,000 at Inglis Easter; ran a race full of promise back from a spell at Rosehill on her last start, when she broke too well and was forced to race up on the pace. Has a good chance. Best of luck to her wonderful bunch of owners.

Illawarra TC
15:39 Race 6 RTS Thoroughbreds Pty Ltd H., A$27000 1200m
Miss Elly May (AUS) 2012 (F. by Duporth-Baby Corn) (trainer: G Waterhouse & A Bott) Bought as a yearling by Blueblood B’stock and Gai Waterhouse for $260,000 at Inglis Easter in 2014; this sister to high-class runner Cornrow won well on her debut at Newcastle last Friday and can go well. Best of luck to her breeders Max Whitby and KWH.

Kitchwin born and raised winning graduates this week.
